Jolene Stone, Dual General Manager for Springhill Suites and Fairfield by Marriott Moab. Starting her career in hospitality as a Housekeeping Manager for TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Elko NV in 2011, she moved to Front Desk Manager in 2013, Sales Manager in 2014 and moved to Regional Sales Director for another company in 2015, where she trained and supported a group of 5-7 Sales Managers from Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma and Texas. While sales was interesting and provided a great learning experience, Jolene’s heart was really in Operations and she moved to opening General Manager of Ledgestone Hotel in Elko NV at the end of 2015, where she remained and honed her leadership skills until early 2019. After a brief stint with a Home 2 as a GM, Jolene returned to her original hotel, the TPS in Elko as GM in November 2019, where she remained until June 2022 when she was promoted to Dual GM for the Marriott hotels in Moab. Jolene thrives on helping others be successful, providing a great experience for her guests and a comfortable work environment for her team. While in Elko, Jolene worked with the Chamber as a lead Ambassador and board member for the tourism council with the local CVB and a member of the Lodging Committee for the same CVB, all to serve the community of hotels and local businesses. Since moving to Moab Jolene has sought out community service opportunities to include highway clean-up, volunteering time at Underdog Rescue, providing a food collection location at her hotels during the holiday season and sponsoring the puppy adoption afternoon. Jolene believes in giving back because in her early life she needed the assistance that others gave. Now it is her turn. She is honored to serve on the Moab Area Chamber Board and will do her best to serve all businesses.

As Branch Manager with Primary Residential Mortgage in Moab, Utah, Rarni brings 18 years of mortgage origination experience serving communities throughout Southeastern Utah. She specializes in residential purchase and refinance lending, offering government, conforming, and non-conforming loan products tailored to the diverse needs of local borrowers. Rarni takes pride in guiding self-employed business owners, seasonal income earners, and first-time homebuyers through the mortgage process with clarity and confidence.

Her approach is hands-on and relationship-driven, with a focus on long-term financial well-being. Rarni believes that informed borrowers make stronger financial decisions, and she works closely with clients to ensure they feel supported at every step.

Beyond her lending work, Rarni serves on the Moab Area Housing Task Force and is Vice President of the Moab Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where she advocates for sustainable housing solutions and the growth of local businesses.

Randy Martin is the owner of Bookworx, an accounting and business consulting company based in Moab. Before working at Bookworx, Randy worked in the accounting department for a local mining company, and before that, was a regional retail banking manager for JP Morgan Chase. Locally, Randy serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Desert Rivers Credit Union.

Randy and his wife raised three daughters in Moab and are grandparents of eight grandchildren. When not working, Randy & Racheal love to spend time with family and travel the world with friends!

Kali is a lifetime local to Moab and has worked, raised her family and operated her businesses here over the years. Her passion for business, family and her hometown shine through in everything she does. Chantell is a proud native of Moab, deeply rooted in its history as her great-grandparents played a pivotal role in its settlement. Alongside her amazing wife, Andrea Noyes, they’ve nurtured a beautiful family of four children, embodying love and dedication in every aspect of their lives.

With over two decades in commercial and consumer lending, account management, and public relations, Chantell has earned respect in the business community. She is active in The Moab Area Chamber of Commerce, and serves as a financial advocate for Boulder Way Forward. Additionally, she is involved with 100 Women Who Care Moab, and is a board member of The Friends of the Children’s Justice Center.

Outside of work, Chantell enjoys water activities, family time, being around her horses, and traveling. Her enthusiasm and dedication make her a valuable asset to her community.

Brittney Melton is the Owner of Brittney Melton Insurance Inc., a role she has held since 2012. Leading a dedicated team of six, she guides her staff to deliver exceptional service while helping clients across Moab and Grand County achieve their insurance and financial goals. Brittney emphasizes coaching her team to bring their best every day, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

With a career in banking and insurance spanning nearly two decades since graduating in 2006, Brittney has earned national recognition from State Farm, consistently ranking in the top 5% of agencies for production. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Colorado Mesa University.

Beyond her agency, Brittney is deeply invested in her community. She has provided housing opportunities for residents, coached youth sports for years, and currently serves as head coach of the Grand County High School volleyball team. This role reflects her true passion for coaching and developing others. Brittney also serves on the board for the Moab Chamber of Commerce.

Known for asking tough questions, holding leaders accountable, and seeking the full story from all perspectives, Brittney brings sharp insight and balanced facilitation to discussions.

Sarah Barstow is the Business Advising Manager for the Women’s Business Center of Utah, where she empowers women statewide to launch and scale their entrepreneurial dreams. A veteran owner with 17 years of experience running The Rave’N Image in downtown Moab, Sarah was recently nominated for 2024 National Business Advisor of the Year and has received personal praise for her work from the SBA and the Governor’s Office.

As a dedicated mentor & educator, Sarah helped develop & co-teaches Biz Spark, a quarterly intro-to-business course, and is currently developing curriculum for a Loan Bootcamp launching in Spring 2026. Her local impact has transformed Grand County into the state’s highest-impact area for WBCUtah services, including the growth of a monthly women’s meetup for local entrepreneurs and the addition of over 100 businesses to the utahwomenowned.com directory.

Beyond her advisory work, Sarah is a self-published author of 3 children's books that offer a humorous look at the everyday struggles of raising babies and young children.

Driven by a lifelong passion for her community, Melodie McCandless serves as the Chair of the Grand County Commission. While she is in her first term as a commissioner, Melodie brings over 25 years of hands-on experience in the restaurant and food sales industry—a career dedicated to helping local entrepreneurs navigate the unique challenges of the Moab business landscape. Melodie is a firm believer that a resilient economy starts with supporting the people who build it. From her decades in the private sector to her current role in county leadership, her focus remains on fostering sustainable growth, advocating for workforce housing, and strengthening the relationship between local government and the business community. Melodie strives to be an active voice for the region’s economic future, ensuring that Grand County remains a vibrant place for both long-time residents and new innovators to thrive.

Originally from Springville, Utah, Jason started coming to Moab in 1995 as a seasonal worker while attending college. In the late 1990s, Jason and his wife made Moab their full-time home. Jason has been involved in outdoor tourism for the last 28 years. Jason is the Operations Manager for Western River Expeditions and the Moab Adventure Center.

Jason has always felt it is important to support local boards and committees and has served in the following while living in Moab, President of the Moab Chamber of Commerce, Moab Area Tourism Council, Grand County Emergency Medical Special Service District, Grand County Winter Search and Rescue Team, and also served as a volunteer EMT for 12 years. He and his wife also own Canyonlands Jeep and Car Rentals.

Jason and his wife Jennifer spend lots of time chasing their three teenagers from one high school event to another and love the sports community in Moab and Grand County. In his free time, they like to raft on the Colorado River, mountain bike, and off-roading in the beautiful backcountry of Southeastern Utah.

Jason was elected to the Moab City Council in 2022 and has served as the City Council liaison on the Moab Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Melisa Jeffers serves Grand County, Utah, in Economic Development and Communications. With over two decades of executive leadership, Melisa has served as CEO, EVP, and other senior-level roles across diverse market sectors. Her expertise spans corporate development, M&A, go-to-market strategy, and revenue growth across outdoor recreation, consumer products, and technology sectors. Melisa specializes in place-based and systems-level strategies that transform community challenges into actionable opportunities. She is skilled at assembling strategic partnerships, structuring capital stacks that align funding with project objectives, and crafting high-impact messaging that attracts investment and generates stakeholder buy-in. A Moab resident, Melisa holds a JD from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and is passionate about building resilient gateway communities where residents, businesses, and visitors thrive together.

Executive Director

Cora Phillips is the executive director for the Moab Chamber of Commerce. Cora has over 20 years of experience in public service and community engagement, beginning as an EMT and ski patroller in her hometown. Her first job in Moab was working as a backcountry ranger with the Canyonlands River District. Following the birth of her son, she worked as director of prevention and education for Seekhaven, where she developed a niche bystander intervention course, training over 300 local guides to stop the escalation of harassment and violence. She was then selected to serve as Grand County’s emergency management director. She used her degree and experience as a paramedic, law enforcement officer, and FEMA disaster crew leader to build disaster resilience in Grand County - a multifaceted endeavor. In her current role with the Chamber, Cora remains intimately involved in public outreach, community engagement, and economic development efforts bringing individuals and resources together to develop creative solutions to community challenges. She looks forward to celebrating her first full year with the Chamber in March.
